Most states allow minor offenses to be expunged off of a person's criminal record. However, the federal government brands people as criminals for life with not chance of expungement... even for such petty things as stealing from a gift shop on federal property. States like Nevada do a great job of balancing society's need to know about a persons criminal tendencies and removing the stigma after an appropriate waiting period... you can see a summary of what I think the federal law should be by reading about NV's sealing law at http://www.recordgone.com/nevada_record_sealing.htm.
I hope this politically unpopular topic becomes a priority so thousands of Americans can have more hope.

You can get these puppies on your unemployment check. Get em' while their hot folks before winter comes and you're out of unemployment in the cold, under a bridge.

You know what would be an awesome U.S program? A program that hired ex-offenders who have been out here struggling with dead end jobs out here. That way we dont have to pick up new charges for programs. After many jobs that ended in layoffs and businesses going under I realized that society was doing it on purpose. Well, that way sucks because I had long term employment beforehand!

The U.S felon employment problem sucks and only serious injuries should be considered felonies.

It's never going to clear up. You were sent out into a failing system with a failing past which created a future of having no value. I couldnt do it! |

This message is being placed here in case programs do not exist in your area. Maybe you're struggling with a poor paying job and a garnishment and cant eat. This book was written by a very intelligent man, perhaps a genius with an IQ of 160.http://www.amazon.com/Hydroponic-Heroin-Opium-Poppies-Without/dp/1559501782
These sites should be enough to get you eating again in a world full of stereotypes and discrimination. http://www.amazon.com/Poppy-Flower-Papaver-Somniferum-Poppies/dp/B0017N2BCE Clearly, for informational purposes only!

More felons can succeed with these opportunities. Until our economy does things like this that are more efficient we will never be able to maximize profit so we can put more money where it is needed the mosty like our school systems. We can continue to waste tons of money and run ourselves further in debt but it seems now is the time to strategize.

I am happy to see programs like this in communities. Its unfortunate that Oregon isn't doing anything. In 2005 I committed a reckless traffic offense and gave a man a bloody nose(accidentally). I was convicted of an Assault 3 for the offense. I rode dead end jobs, was released from probation but I could never pay those high fines. Finally, in 2009 (2 years after release) I began manufacturing everything under the sun that can be cultivated in order to produce an income. Marijuana, magic mushroooms, Opium, Heroin, Morphine etc. Basically anything that doesnt cause property damage. Although, I don't operate year round I would have never turned back to crime in order to survive if their was employment opportunities that ensured success amongst felon. In 2009 I graduated college. I also drew about 20k in state funds since my conviction
Once again, Im glad something is being done somewhere because I would have never turned to crime if the necessary income to survive was within reach.
