Feb 20 2008, 5:38 PM EST Every single one of you people are on the Obama band waggon, as am I...for one reason, I hate John McCain and I hate Hillary Clinton even more. I guess it's the lesser of 3 evils. However, Obama will send this country to hell in a handbasket, even more so than George W. Bush has. Obama is a COMMUNIST! I don't understand why you people cannot see that. He wants free medical care, higher taxes and a decreased gap between the rich and poor. huh, seems strikingly similar to what happened when the Manchu overtook the Qing dynasty in China and turned them into a communist country...oh and Russia during the Cold War...interesting, huh? Free Medical care is a horrific idea...first of all, not to be condescending and an ass about thigns, but if you can't afford free health care then get a better damn job. I'm sorry, but these people who have children and no health care benefits are irresponsible. I haven't had a child yet because I can't afford one...so maybe you shouldn't be an idiot and get yourself into a situation where you can't afford the medical bills for children...don't let the government do it for you, take responsibility for yourself and realize that you're a pathetic loser and do something about it...don't whine and cry to the government for free medical care. If you want to look at how not to run a country, look at France. They're unemployment has nearly TRIPLED since they started to receive free health care because the employers cannot afford to provide for the free health care and the people who are middle class (like myself) have to heavily pay taxes...where do you think the money is going to come from? Jackasses. Furthermore, with the flooding of people to the already overworked doctors, the amount of time to wait in order to do a simple procedure will drastically increase as well as the quality decreasing. May 22 2008, 11:32 PM EDT first of all, barack's health care plan is "partial " universal health care - meaning, it's not free. for example, if the company you work for offers health insurance, you buy into that plan, but your premiums would be cut by 2,500.00 a yr. let's say you own a small business - and can't afford to offer health insurance to your workers - you and your workers could buy into an affordable gov't health care plan -remember this - "you buy into it, " and it's not mandated! now here's my 2 cents about people being irresponible: my husband's an electrician - we're as blue collar as they come - we have a 4yr. old and a 2yr.old. 3 years ago, we paid 25.00 a week in health insurance w/ 90/10 coverage. today we pay 85.00 a week for 80/20 coverage. every year when my husband gets a raise, our health insurance goes up - so, it's like not getting a raise at all. if anyone is irresponsible, it's our gov't for not stepping in to prevent the ever growing inflation of health insurance (think, monopoly). onto taxes.... under obama's plan, if you make less than 100,000 a yr. you will receive a 1,000 tax credit every year. if you make between 100,000- 250,000 - your taxes will remain the same. if you make more than 250,000 - your pay into tax will be 38%. this is how it was in the 1990's - when we had a booming economy and surplus. think about this... the wealthy, no matter what % of taxes they pay, will be wealthy, they'll spend money. the middle class however, when paying a higher %in taxes, will not have the extra money to spend. what happens when the middle class cuts back on spending? recession. hence, to boost our economy comes from the "bottom up." oh yeah, top ranking economists support barack's plan - even the nobel peace prize winning economists. another bump up for our economy - obama's energy policy and tax breaks for companies that keep their jobs in the US.
