Is Sarah Palin Ready to be President?

If something should happen to McCain before November that made him unable to continue as the Republican candidate, would the Republican party nominate Palin as their candidate? If yes, would all the people that would vote for McCain/Palin vote for just Palin? If anyone who would vote for McCain/Palin has to stop and think about whether or not they would vote for Palin alone, they shouldn’t be voting for McCain/Palin.

We’re hearing a lot of commentators, depending on their politics, saying that she is or is not ready to be Vice President when the real question should be is she ready or not ready to be President? Seven of the 42 men who were President died in office and during the last century at least three were incapacitated enough to be unable to perform their duties. That is nearly one-quarter of all Presidents. Vice President Tyler became President just one month after President Harrison took the oath of office. That could happen even today. Is Sarah Palin ready or not ready to be President?

Palin lacks adequate knowledge in so many crucial areas – foreign affairs, the economy, defense, security, to name a few – that a President must have. If she had the knowledge, why would the McCain campaign take a week after the convention to prep her for media interviews? It shouldn’t have taken that long to get her up to speed on the McCain positions if she already had a good knowledge base on the issues. Even after that prepping, in the ABC interviews she didn’t do a good job of demonstrating an ability to be President. Since she was a governor and a mayor she may have more executive knowledge than McCain, Obama, or Biden but hiring a good office manager to run the White House is much easier than learning how to be President.
